Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can improve the appearance and texture of the skin on the face, neck, or hands by causing the outer layer of the skin to peel off.

Chemical peels are cosmetic procedures used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin on the face, neck, or hands.

They involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which causes the outer layer of the skin to peel off, revealing smoother, younger-looking skin underneath. Chemical peels can be performed at varying depths, from superficial to deep, depending on the desired results and the specific skin issues being addressed.

There Are Three Main Types Of Chemical Peels:

Superficial Peels

These peels use mild acids, such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), to exfoliate the outermost layer of skin. Superficial peels often improve skin tone, texture, and mild discolorations. They have minimal downtime and are suitable for people with minor skin concerns.

Medium Peels

Medium peels use more potent acids, such as glycolic acid or trichloroacetic acid (TCA), to penetrate deeper into the skin and target issues like fine lines, wrinkles, and moderate skin discolorations. These peels require some downtime for the skin to heal and the peeling process to occur.

Deep Peels

Deep peels are the most intense and use strong acids like phenol. They can address severe wrinkles, deeper scars, and more significant skin irregularities. However, these peels require the longest recovery time and can be more uncomfortable during healing.
